Carlow Library Service in partnership with Éigse are providing a series of 6 week creative writing workshops to the Carlow Writers’ Co-operative. Over the 6 weeks the participants will have an opportunity to develop their writing skills in a relaxed atmosphere facilitated by professional writer, Ken Bourke.
This will culminate in reading presentations to allow participants to showcase their work.
Ken Bourke has been a professional writer for over twenty years.
His plays include: Wild Harvest (Druid); Galloping Buck Jones (Tinderbox/Lyric); The Hunt for Red Willie (Abbey - Peacock),and Little Rudolf (Barnstorm).
The third play in the Buck Jones series, Buck Jones and the Body Snatchers was produced in 2008 by Joan Sheehy, and was nominated for Best Production in the Irish Times Theatre Awards for 2008.
He is an experienced workshop-facilitator and has worked with a wide range of groups. This project is his first involvement with Carlow Library Service and Éigse.
Carlow Library Service and Éigse have a strong commitment to the provision of literary developments and the fostering of local talent in Co Carlow.
