Carlow Writers' launched their first anthology called "What champagne was like" last Thursday, 6th June in the Teach Bar in Carlow Town. It was launched by Jamie O' Connell, author of Some kind of beauty and he treated us to a new story he has been working on. Guests mingled over glasses of prosecco and the Hard Times band provided us with laid back, groovy music. A fabulous night was had!
On Tuesday, 11th we all met in the Carlow Library to read from our anthology at the Carlow Arts Festival. John Shorthall, the Librarian introduced us and we managed to sell some more copies of the book.
All profits are going to Carlow Youth Services,a charity we are very happy to be supporting.
Thanks to all of our patrons and sponsors and to everyone who helped bring this project to fruition.
We will now take a break for the summer and rejoin, with full energy in the Autumn term.
